Colville Nursery Centre was set up as a community nursery in 1977.

We are a registered charity and aim to provide affordable childcare for the local community.

The nursery centre reflects the community and is managed and staffed by professionals from wide-ranging backgrounds with a wealth of experience.

How We Work With Children

Colville Nursery centre aims to work in partnership with parents to provide a safe and stimulating environment in which children can develop to their full potential.

Activities are planned according to the relevant guidelines for the age group - 'Birth to Three Matters' for the Under 3's and the 'Foundation Stage Early Learning Goals' for the 3 - 5 year olds.

Children learn through their play - by doing rather than being told and learn most effectively through active involvement.

Each child's individual developmental progress
is monitored by the key worker in a profile.

These developmental records are discussed
with parents at termly consultation meetings
between the parents and the key worker.
