Food Policy
The nursery's ethos in relation to food is to provide a varied diet
containing healthy whole food as much as possible.
We cater to individual children's dietary needs, which are identified
when a parent / carer completes the Initial Personal Record for their
child.
We believe in providing a wide range of foods from a variety of cultures
and actively encourage parents and carers to share recipe ideas with
us.
We do not use red meat.
We only use halal chicken.
We use soya as an alternative for those who do not eat dairy products.
We also use Quorn, soya , pulses and vegatables instead of meat.
Pudding is usually fresh fruit, although in the winter this will sometimes
be accompanied by custard for warmth.
Due to the workload in the kitchen we will have a maximum of one freezer
food meal per week (e.g. fish fingers, chips and spaghetti).
Food for the weaning babies will be blended / pureed.
The nursery provides the following on a daily
basis:
08.00 - 9.00 Breakfast - Toast, cereal and milk.
10.15 Snack - Milk and a biscuit.
11.45 Lunch - Cooked lunch and desert.
16.00 Tea - A light meal with milk and
fruit / cucumber.
Please note that tea is only a small meal to
sustain your child until they get home after
nursery (eg beans on toast and is not
intended to replace their evening meal.
