Medication Policy and Administration Procedure

It is the policy of Colville Nursery Centre that medicines will only be given to a child who has had them prescribed by their medical practitioner (G.P.).

The greatest care will be taken to ensure that these are administered according to the instructions on the label.

Records of any medication given will be made on the medication form.

The giving of medication will be witnessed and the medication form signed.

Whem prescribed antibiotics, children will be permitted
to return to the Centre after 48 hours if it is felt
that they are well enough to cope with the
nursery day.

This will be at the discretion of the staff and
management of Colville Nursery Centre.
